Chromebook Shortcut of the Week - Quick Lock your Screen

Locked Chromebook Screen
This week's Chromebook Shortcut of the Week is how to quickly lock your Chromebook. This has a lot of practical value, as your device provides a plethora of personally identifiable information, and due to FERPA laws, we must do our best to protect all of that personally identifiable information. Quickly locking your Chromebook will require a user to know your password to gain entry into the Chromebook and have a shot at the personably identifiable information.

To quickly lock your Chromebook Screen, you will press the power button for only three seconds. Using the power button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen will lock your device and require your password to open it.* If you hold down the power button for two long, your Chromebook will shut down and you will be forced to log back in. But don't worry, the Chromebooks are extremely fast.

*Please note: another user could shut down the Chromebook and log into their information, but all of your information will be behind password protected security.
